Is it Worth the Buy? Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

Happy Sunday, friends! Hope you all had a great Black Friday weekend! Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on one of Too Faced’s most popular products.

The Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is a medium/deep toned matte bronzer with their famous sweet chocolate scent. I got a deluxe size of this when I bought a little trial set with 5 of their best selling products. You all know that Benefit’s Hoola bronzer is my all time favourite so this one had a lot to compete with. I think the overall tone is nice but for my skin tone it borders on being too warm so you have to be careful when applying it.

I find that it looks really nice blended around the temples, cheeks and jawline to wake up your complexion and you can get get away with a really soft and subtle contour if you’re careful to not apply too much. My one complaint is that I find it tough to blend and since it’s such a deep tone that can be a serious issue. Building it up slowly with a fluffy powder brush seems to be the best way to deal with that.

Overall I think it’s a really nice matte bronzer with a fairly good tone. I think it works well in the summer time for those of us with fair skin and could work all year on deeper skin tones. Let me know your thoughts on the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer if you’ve tried it. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great Sunday.

Product Fave: L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Blush

Hello friends! Happy Monday! Today I want to mention a product that I reach for whenever I’m getting ready in a hurry–which is most mornings! The L’Oreal Visible Lift Blur Blushes are a gel formula that gives your cheeks a super natural flushed look.

I have the shade Soft Berry which is bright pink when blended out, but there’s also Soft Pink which is a natural pink and Soft Peach which is the most sheer option. I like to squeeze out a small amount and pat it on with my fingers. Keep in mind that this does set pretty quickly so don’t take too long blending! This shade looks like a natural “just in from the cold” flush and lasts all day long. The only downside is that they are pricey at about $15 where I live so definitely wait for a sale.

These are not usually products that I would try but I’m so glad that I did. Let me know if you’re planning on trying them! Have a great week!

Face of the Day: Fall Makeup Look

Hi everyone! It is officially time to start breaking out the sweaters and cozy scarfs since the weather is getting chilly. Today I thought I’d share with you a makeup look that I wore the other day that featured a bunch of my favourite tones for this time of year! More info on all the products is at the end!

I love the look of bronzy eyeshadows and the L’Oreal Infallible Eyeshadow in Amber Rush is incredible. For a quick look on busy days I’ll throw a medium brown in the crease and apply this gorgeous rose gold shade on my lids. I have combination/oily skin which gets more dry around this time of year so I like to add a more glowy highlight. The illuminator in Flush from the Grand Palais palette by Too Faced gives a lovely champagne/gold glow. Most of the time I like to wear red and berry tones, but I figured I’d change it up a bit and go for a more muted deep nude. Mac’s lip pencil in Whirl is a gorgeous shade–these are super pricey though and I’m actually not a huge fan of the formula. I’d recommend the Exaggerate Lip Liners by Rimmel over these.

Left to right: Amber Rush, Flush, Whirl.

What kind of makeup have you been wearing lately? All the info on the products I’ve used is down below! Thank you all so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Fall Decorations!

I hope you’ve all had a spooky Halloween! It’s been a crazy busy month for me but I’m finally caught up with school work so I figured I’d share with you all some of the decorations I had up for fall and Halloween. These are super easy and they work great for really small spaces!

I didn’t really like many of the fall decorations I was finding so I figured that I would just pick up some fake leaves and make my own. I got a few that had little wire stems that I twisted together to make sets of three and I also got some tiny loose leaves that I glued to some twine. I put these up all around my room and on my door and they looked super cute! I don’t really have the patience to carve pumpkins so I bought a mini one at a grocery store and took a black sharpie and drew on a jack-o-lantern face. If you want to get more crafty and creative with pumpkins, I’d recommend using fake ones so that you can re-use them. That’ll save you a ton of money and effort!

What kind of decorations did you have for the spooky season? I’m always looking for new ideas! Now on to Christmas decor! Thank you all so much for stopping by!

Is it Worth the Buy? Aveda Be Curly

Happy Monday everyone! Did you do anything fun this weekend? I’ve honestly been working a ton lately so I can’t wait to have some time to relax now that August is here! I have a bunch of really fun projects planned that I can’t wait to share with you all. ❤

My natural hair is super thick and curly and I never bother straightening it so I’m always looking around for products that will help it looks bouncy and smooth. I was given a really nice set for Christmas that featured four of the Aveda Be Curly products in travel size and I have been trying them out.

The shampoo and conditioner are meant to give definition to your curls while fighting frizz and adding shine. The co-wash is kind of a hybrid of these two that will cleanse your scalp while restoring moisture to your actual curls. Lastly, the curl enhancer is a way to intensify your curls, fight frizz and add a boost of shine.

I’ve really been liking what these guys add to my hair routine: After washing my hair with my usual shampoo, I rinse it about half way out and then mix a dime sized amount of the shampoo and the co-wash and wash my hair again with those. I don’t find that they make my hair feel clean enough on their own but I like them as an added boost. Then I add about a dime sized amount of the conditioner to my usual and run them through my hair from root to tip. The conditioner works nicely on it’s own but since it’s so pricey I would rather mix it and have it last longer. Then when my hair is about 50% dry, I run a small amount of the curl enhancer through. The key here is to use only a small amount because it can make your hair feel a little sticky if you over do it.

Now these guys are absolutely a splurge item for me so while I really like all of them I’ve been thinking about whether I would repurchase them in a full size. For my hair type I think that the cur enhancer makes the biggest difference and is the most worthwhile. While the other products are really nice I don’t think they do enough to justify the price–around $30 for a standard size!!

If you’re struggling to find products that work for your curly hair I’d highly recommend trying out this line! Especially if you can get it in a set like I did so you can try them all out! I’m super glad that I found these guys and will keep an eye out incase they come out with another set next Christmas! These guys are Worth the Buy for sure! Have an awesome day, friends! ❤
