Is it Worth the Buy? Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

Happy Sunday, friends! Hope you all had a great Black Friday weekend! Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on one of Too Faced’s most popular products.

The Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is a medium/deep toned matte bronzer with their famous sweet chocolate scent. I got a deluxe size of this when I bought a little trial set with 5 of their best selling products. You all know that Benefit’s Hoola bronzer is my all time favourite so this one had a lot to compete with. I think the overall tone is nice but for my skin tone it borders on being too warm so you have to be careful when applying it.

I find that it looks really nice blended around the temples, cheeks and jawline to wake up your complexion and you can get get away with a really soft and subtle contour if you’re careful to not apply too much. My one complaint is that I find it tough to blend and since it’s such a deep tone that can be a serious issue. Building it up slowly with a fluffy powder brush seems to be the best way to deal with that.

Overall I think it’s a really nice matte bronzer with a fairly good tone. I think it works well in the summer time for those of us with fair skin and could work all year on deeper skin tones. Let me know your thoughts on the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer if you’ve tried it. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great Sunday.

Fall Decorations!

I hope you’ve all had a spooky Halloween! It’s been a crazy busy month for me but I’m finally caught up with school work so I figured I’d share with you all some of the decorations I had up for fall and Halloween. These are super easy and they work great for really small spaces!

I didn’t really like many of the fall decorations I was finding so I figured that I would just pick up some fake leaves and make my own. I got a few that had little wire stems that I twisted together to make sets of three and I also got some tiny loose leaves that I glued to some twine. I put these up all around my room and on my door and they looked super cute! I don’t really have the patience to carve pumpkins so I bought a mini one at a grocery store and took a black sharpie and drew on a jack-o-lantern face. If you want to get more crafty and creative with pumpkins, I’d recommend using fake ones so that you can re-use them. That’ll save you a ton of money and effort!

What kind of decorations did you have for the spooky season? I’m always looking for new ideas! Now on to Christmas decor! Thank you all so much for stopping by!

Favourite Highlighters

Hey everyone! Hope you’re having a great weekend! Contouring and highlighting have become a huge craze and I have seriously been upping my highlight game over the past few months. I have a few favourite products that I wanna share with you all today that are perfect for making you look gorgeous and glowy.

First up is a total cult classic, Mac Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle. This is a really gorgeous cool toned highlight that’s ideal if you’re into a super dewy look. I like to dust this on with a fan brush when I’m going for something that’s not too in your face. This guy also looks great on the body if you want to add some extra glow to a tan. (Who doesn’t want that?) It’s definitely pricey at $37 but highlighters are the kind of product that you can easily buy one and have it last you forever. Find it here:

Next up is Benefit’s Highbeam which I have already briefly mentioned in my review on Benefit’s Christmas collection. This is a liquid highlight that again will give you that very cool toned pinky glow. I think this is an awesome product for summer as many people don’t wear as much makeup and like to opt for more cream and liquid products. This gives you a really beautiful and natural looking ‘glow from within’ but doesn’t getting bunchy like many liquid products do. Make sure not to put this on top of powder though because it won’t blend out and will get kind of patchy. I tend to prefer powder products in general–for blushes, eyeshadows, everything–just because I find them easier to use but if this formula is your thing then definitely give this one a shot because it’s a beautiful colour. Left to right: Mac Mineralized Skin Finish in Soft and Gentle, Benefit High Beam, Loreal Infallible Hourglass Beige

Highlighters are slowly starting to make their way into drugstores which is awesome, but I haven’t been totally wowed by any yet. However, Loreal’s Infallible Eyeshadow in Hourglass Beige is absolutely gorgeous. For those of you that haven’t tried these, they are a hybrid between a loose pigment and a pressed shadow, making them super pigmented and smooth. This is a beautiful champagne colour that is super shimmery without being glittery, which makes it amazing to use on the inner corners of the eyes, brow bone, cheeks and of course for it’s intended purpose, the eyes. This is best applied with your fingers though because of it’s unique texture. Check out all of the Infallible shades here:

I hope this has helped any of you who are looking to add a new highlight to your collection. Feel free to let me know what your favourites are! Thanks so much for stopping by!
