Is it Worth the Buy? Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

Happy Sunday, friends! Hope you all had a great Black Friday weekend! Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on one of Too Faced’s most popular products.

The Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is a medium/deep toned matte bronzer with their famous sweet chocolate scent. I got a deluxe size of this when I bought a little trial set with 5 of their best selling products. You all know that Benefit’s Hoola bronzer is my all time favourite so this one had a lot to compete with. I think the overall tone is nice but for my skin tone it borders on being too warm so you have to be careful when applying it.

I find that it looks really nice blended around the temples, cheeks and jawline to wake up your complexion and you can get get away with a really soft and subtle contour if you’re careful to not apply too much. My one complaint is that I find it tough to blend and since it’s such a deep tone that can be a serious issue. Building it up slowly with a fluffy powder brush seems to be the best way to deal with that.

Overall I think it’s a really nice matte bronzer with a fairly good tone. I think it works well in the summer time for those of us with fair skin and could work all year on deeper skin tones. Let me know your thoughts on the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer if you’ve tried it. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great Sunday.

Fall Decorations!

I hope you’ve all had a spooky Halloween! It’s been a crazy busy month for me but I’m finally caught up with school work so I figured I’d share with you all some of the decorations I had up for fall and Halloween. These are super easy and they work great for really small spaces!

I didn’t really like many of the fall decorations I was finding so I figured that I would just pick up some fake leaves and make my own. I got a few that had little wire stems that I twisted together to make sets of three and I also got some tiny loose leaves that I glued to some twine. I put these up all around my room and on my door and they looked super cute! I don’t really have the patience to carve pumpkins so I bought a mini one at a grocery store and took a black sharpie and drew on a jack-o-lantern face. If you want to get more crafty and creative with pumpkins, I’d recommend using fake ones so that you can re-use them. That’ll save you a ton of money and effort!

What kind of decorations did you have for the spooky season? I’m always looking for new ideas! Now on to Christmas decor! Thank you all so much for stopping by!

My On-the-Go Makeup Bag

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you’ve all been doing well and that you had a great weekend! Since the new school year has started, many of us are on the go a lot so it’s important to make sure that you have all of the personal care items you’ll need with you.

I find it easiest to keep everything I know I’ll need in this little makeup bag from Sephora. This way, if you want to switch out your purse, all you have to do is grab this bag and you won’t have to worry about forgetting anything. I always recommend keeping bandaids and hand sanitizer with you. I get blisters all the time and have finally learned that it’s best to just always have several bandaids with you. And hand sanitizer is just a necessity for when you’re on the go–once you start carrying it you’ll be surprised at how often it comes in handy!

Since I usually end up leaving in a rush, I like to keep some products for the finishing touches of my routine. White eyeliner is my go-to for looking well rested so I always keep one with me for touch ups. I also often end up throwing whatever lipstick I’ll wear that day in here, so I keep this universal lipliner since it will keep any shade of lipstick from feathering outside the lines.

As I mentioned, I’ll change out my lip product everyday, but the only lippies that I consistently take with me are my Burts Bees lip balm and a Toyshop Sheer Lip in Applause. For more natural days, this lipstick gives a super nice pink colour that wakes up the face. Any nice tinted lip balm will do the trick! Lastly I keep some Duo Lash Glue since you never know when the inner corner of your lashes are gonna start popping off!

What do you keep in your on-the-go makeup bag? Thank you all so much for stopping by and I’ll see you soon!

DIY Glitter Letter

Hello friends! How was your weekend? I’m so happy to see that you guys enjoyed my last DIY post so I figured that I’d bring you guys another really simple one today. Crafts like this are great for those of us that are looking to have cute decorations while sticking to a budget.

You will need:
-Foam core board
-Washi tape
-Two colours of fine craft glitter
-Craft glue
-A pencil
-A paint brush

Alrighty, so the first thing you want to do is start tracing a letter onto the board with a pencil. You can make it as complex or as simple as you want. I’m not a super crafty person so I went for a very basic shape just to make things easier. Then you want to start painting your craft glue on the design that you drew. It’s important that you try to keep the edges as clean as possible since the glitter will stick to anything that has glue on it.

Now for the fun–and messy–part! Start to slowly pour the glitter onto your shape, with the darkest colour toward the top fading to a lighter colour at the bottom. Using your fingers, gently press the glitter into the glue. This will help to make your shape really opaque and evenly covered. Tip the excess glitter into a garbage and go over any areas that need more. Now just create a border with some washi tape and you’re set!

I think this is a great way to spruce up a room and would make an adorable gift for someone! I love to hear from you guys so be sure to tag me in pictures of your DIYs! Thank you all so so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next time!

Benefit Party Poppers Review

It’s day two of Blogmas and I have a review for you guys of Benefit’s Party Poppers 12 days of Christmas advent calendar. Beauty advent calendars are becoming more and more popular and I think they’re a really great and fun idea especially as an introduction to a new brand.

I was super excited when I saw that Benefit had released a 12 day advent calendar this year because last year’s was the full 24 days and it was over $100! This guy is $54 which is still expensive but a little bit more reasonable. The first thing that threw me off about this though was the packaging. Benefit’s entire holiday collection this year is party themed and everything has weird neon colours with kind of creepy looking people on them. It just wasn’t really my thing and I expected something much more Christmassy. It also plays an original version of the 12 Days of Christmas when you open it–but just know that this plays on it’s own ALL THE TIME without anyone going near  it which has gotten a little annoying.

Packaging aside, you get 12 deluxe sized samples of ‘fan favourite’ Benefit products:
– 0.25 oz The Porefessional Face Primer
– 0.14 oz Badgal Lash Mascara
– 0.08 oz Lollitint Lip and Cheek Stain in Candy-Orchid
– 0.08 oz Ooh La Lift Under-eye Brightener
– 0.1 oz They’re Real Mascara
– 0.08 oz High Beam Highlighter
– 0.3 oz Total Moisture Facial Cream
– 2 x 0.22 oz Ultra Plush Lip Glossin Hoola, Sugarbomb
– 0.08 oz Watt’s up! Highlighter
– 0.25 oz They’re Real! Remover Eye Makeup Remover
– 0.1 oz Rockateur Blush

First up is a very good size of the Porefessional Face Primer. I’ve done a full review on this so I won’t go on too much. This is a staple for almost every Benefit set and I like that it’s such a great size but it’s just not one of my go to primers.

You get Badgal Lash and They’re Real too and I honestly love getting mascaras in sets like this so I don’t have a problem that there are two. These are both really good mascaras and they’re a standard travel size.

Something that I am not a huge fan of though is Lollitint Lip and Cheek Stain. First off, I was confused as to why they picked this purple pink colour instead of Benetint which is much more popular. I found this was streaky and I was super dissapointed by the lack of pigmentation. It’s also way too small of a size considering how much you have to use to get the colour to show up.

High Beam Highlighter struggled with the same size issue, but I thought the product itself was lovely. I had actually never tried it before and I was very impressed. This does not give you the same streaky and patchy look that Lollitint does which is great and it creates a gorgeous highlight.

I was also pleasently surprised by the Ooh la Lift Under-eye Brightener. I don’t usually reach for under-eye brighteners because I tend to go for more intense coverage but this product looks great as a boost under your concealer. If you’re someone that likes the more natural look than you could totally get away with using this on it’s own. (This one is also way too small, just saying.)

Watt’s Up Highlighter is another Benefit staple in sets like this. I like this product a lot and I think it blends out really well and looks pretty nice. I’m not about to replace my other highlighters with it but it’s nice to have and this one’s a great size!

Next up is the Total Moisture Facial Cream. I’m not crazy about Benefit skin care because I find it very overpriced and not amazing enough to justify that. This moisturizer is fine, though only to use at night because it’s a bit greasy. But it does have a weird fragrance which I’m not crazy about. I think it’s something different to include in the set and it’s a nice size as well.

You also get two Ultra Plush Lip Glosses in Sugarbomb and Hoola. I really do have some issues with these. The first thing I noticed was the smell. They have this weird fruity/perfumy smell that I really don’t like and it lingers throughout the day so you can taste it. The formulation is really nice though as they’re not sticky or gloopy, however I would layer them over a lipstick because they do nothing for your lips on their own. I don’t hate these but I wish you only got one and that the other was replaced by maybe a lipstick or an eyeliner.

The They’re Real Eye Makeup Remover is the only item in here that was actually awful. If feels kind of gross on your eyes and it hardly took off any of my makeup. A single eyeshadow or a bronzer would have been lovely instead.

To end on a high note, the last door is the Rockateur blush. This is a really nice addition since it’s a great size and colour. I had never tried it before this so I liked that it was included.

Now I know that I had some issues with a couple of things in here but overall I really do like it. Yes, I do feel that some of the products were odd choices and should have been much bigger but I do think this a fun gift for someone who hasn’t tried much from Benefit. And it is really fun to get a new little present everyday!

But someone seriously needs to tell Benefit to get it together with the packaging. That is something I can’t get over!

Have you tried Party Poppers? Let me know what you thought and if you agree/disagree with any of my thoughts. Thanks so much for stopping by ❤
