Is it Worth the Buy? Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer

Happy Sunday, friends! Hope you all had a great Black Friday weekend! Today I wanted to share with you my thoughts on one of Too Faced’s most popular products.

The Chocolate Soleil Bronzer is a medium/deep toned matte bronzer with their famous sweet chocolate scent. I got a deluxe size of this when I bought a little trial set with 5 of their best selling products. You all know that Benefit’s Hoola bronzer is my all time favourite so this one had a lot to compete with. I think the overall tone is nice but for my skin tone it borders on being too warm so you have to be careful when applying it.

I find that it looks really nice blended around the temples, cheeks and jawline to wake up your complexion and you can get get away with a really soft and subtle contour if you’re careful to not apply too much. My one complaint is that I find it tough to blend and since it’s such a deep tone that can be a serious issue. Building it up slowly with a fluffy powder brush seems to be the best way to deal with that.

Overall I think it’s a really nice matte bronzer with a fairly good tone. I think it works well in the summer time for those of us with fair skin and could work all year on deeper skin tones. Let me know your thoughts on the Chocolate Soleil Bronzer if you’ve tried it. Thank you so much for stopping by and have a great Sunday.

Fall Decorations!

I hope you’ve all had a spooky Halloween! It’s been a crazy busy month for me but I’m finally caught up with school work so I figured I’d share with you all some of the decorations I had up for fall and Halloween. These are super easy and they work great for really small spaces!

I didn’t really like many of the fall decorations I was finding so I figured that I would just pick up some fake leaves and make my own. I got a few that had little wire stems that I twisted together to make sets of three and I also got some tiny loose leaves that I glued to some twine. I put these up all around my room and on my door and they looked super cute! I don’t really have the patience to carve pumpkins so I bought a mini one at a grocery store and took a black sharpie and drew on a jack-o-lantern face. If you want to get more crafty and creative with pumpkins, I’d recommend using fake ones so that you can re-use them. That’ll save you a ton of money and effort!

What kind of decorations did you have for the spooky season? I’m always looking for new ideas! Now on to Christmas decor! Thank you all so much for stopping by!

Favourite Drugstore Eyeliners!

Hey everyone! I hope you’ve all had a great weekend! As a student, I always find myself gravitating toward drugstore products and I’m a big believer that you can look amazing without spending a ton of money. Today I’d like to share with you four of my favourite drugstore eyeliners. 🙂

FullSizeRender

First up is the one that I reach for the most, Maybelline Eyestudio’s Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner. I’m a big fan of gel liners because they’re really easy to use and you can create a ton of different looks without a lot of effort. This will give you a super black line that lasts all day without smudging. The only drawback is that you have to wash the little brush before each use or the product will get all dry and weird. I’ve gone through a bunch of these now and I always save the brushes so no I don’t have to worry about washing them all the time!

If gel liners aren’t really your thing, then I’d highly recommend checking out Rimmel’s Scandaleyes Waterproof Eyeliners. These guys will give you the super bold pigmentation of a gel liner with the versatility of a kohl pencil. I like to line my top lash line with the black one and then blend it out so it gets all smokey and use the white in my waterline to open my eye up. They’re also a dupe for the Nars Larger Than Life eyeliners which are about $30!

If you’re looking to experiment with colour this summer without spending too much money, I’d definitely recommend Essence’s Gel Liners. I very rarely wear coloured eye makeup so it’s definitely not something that I would want to splurge on, these are amazing and only $3! They are very similar to the Rimmel ones but they’re self sharpening and have way more bright colours.

What are your favourite eyeliners? Thank you all so much for stopping by and I’ll see you next time!
